The Man Behind the Magic If you've spent any time on Instagram or YouTube, chances are you've already seen João's work. The self-taught Brazilian artist, who began sculpting at just seven years old, is famous worldwide for his hyper-realistic, thumb-sized recreations of much-loved characters, from Super Mario and Stitch to Garfield, Elsa and Baby Yoda.
And people can't get enough. His videos have racked up over 1.9 billion views on YouTube, with a combined following of more than 3.6 million fans across his channels. The biggest names in entertainment have come knocking too, with João creating handcrafted sculptures for Netflix, Prime Video, Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon.
